Apple butter in a crock pot

Picture
Throw in a crockpot:
12 cups of cut,  sliced, peeled apples
 2 cups of maple syrup
 1/3 cup of water
2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar
2 tsp of cinnamon plus 2 sticks
 1 tsp nutmeg
 Dash of sea salt
 Dash of vanilla
Cook on high for 5 to 6 hours then take a potato masher and mash everything down and remove the cinnamon sticks.
Ladle into prepared canning jars and process 420 minutes in a hot water bath or steam canner. Or if you choose to freeze it you can do that instead of canning!
Enjoy on some delicious bread, pancakes, waffles or just feed it to your children plain!
