AVOCADO OIL & BUTTER
Produced by pressing the flesh of avocados, this oil is rich in vitamins A, D and E in addition to potassium and lecithin. It is extremely rich in oleic acid and mono saturated fats, making it one of the few oils that can penetrate the hair shaft and moisturize hair, as well as having the ability to carry nutrients from other ingredients in to the hair shaft. These fats also strengthen hair and help prevent breakage. It is able to quickly penetrate in to the second layer of skin (the dermis) providing deep moisturizing for the scalp and skin. Vitamin E has the ability to reverse and heal damage done by the suns rays while Vitamin D can help in the generation of new hair follicles. Because it has a burning point of 520’ F it is an effective heat protection as well.
ALOE VERA BUTTER, EXTRACT & GEL
Extracted from the gel of the aloe vera succulent plant, it contains Vitamins A, C, E and folic acid which all contribute to cell turnover and growth resulting in healthy, shiny hair. It also has Vitamin B12 and folic acid which can help to stimulate blood flow and improved delivery of oxygen and nutrition to the follicle. It has the ability to break down excess skin and sebum that is clogging follicles and irritating the scalp which helps with furthering hair growth and treatment of scalp disorders that contribute to partial baldness. It has antipruritic properties that can alleviate itchiness and dryness while also reducing redness and inflammation with the enzyme Bradykinase, an analgesic anti-inflammatory enzyme, as well as salicylic acid, a compound with anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antibacterial properties. JOJOBA OIL
An oil like wax extracted from the seeds of the Simmondsia chinensis plant, Jojoba is rich in vitamins and minerals that nourish hair, including vitamins B, C and E, copper, and zinc.
It has a similar molecular structure to sebum, which is the oil our skin naturally produces (its ideal for dry and curly hair), making it a reparative ingredient for a compromised moisture barrier. It has the ability to deliver moisture without disrupting your skin and hairs natural pH. Because it doesn’t penetrate the hair shaft, it is able to sit atop the cuticle and seal in moisture while protecting from dryness or breakage (without weighing hair down).
It’s also great for dealing with dandruff as it helps to balance pH without leaving a greasy residue on your scalp.
